In memory of Alan, a great friend and a genuinely good man. He will be greatly missed
Thank you to the staff of the hospice for caring for Alan in his last days
A gentleman and an excellent role model in everything he did in life. I started teaching at WHGS on the same day as Alan in 1978 and gained a great friend for life. Taken too soon.
A great colleague. His contribution to school through chemistry, CCF, House Master, Head of Sixth, DoE to name a few. You don't get teachers like Alan very often.
My brother and I are incredibly grateful for everything Mr Simkin did for us, whilst we were pupils at WHGS - we feel very fortunate to have been taught / mentored by him. May he rest in peace
For a wonderful man
So loved and taken too soon.
You are missed more than you will ever know
In memeory of Alan, a colleague and friend.
He was quite a legend, spent some great times with him supervising DoE Groups
Mr Simkin was a wonderful teacher and wonderful human being - he made a great impact on me and my sister at school, both in chemistry lessons as well as D of E trips, and for that I’ll always be grateful to him. A true role model in every sense - may he rest in peace. Thank you Sir
In loving memory of our friend, Alan Simkin.

In respectful memory of Alan - a fantastic teacher, mentor, House Master, Head of Sixth Form, CCF Officer and sportsman... he has a lasting impact on us all.
A great man who influenced the lives of so many...always in a positive way.
Alan's sense of humour and competitiveness can be summed up for me during a prefects vs teacher's football match when whilst running against Alan for a long ball he remarked i would need to get on my bike to get past him to get to the ball. Sending our deepest sympathies.
So sad to hear the news. Great memories of Alan from WHGS in the 1980s. RIP Sir
Thanks for the memories, the many laughs we shared, both as schoolboy pals and then as we grew older as family friends. Bonfire night will never be quite the same without you Alan, you will forever have a special place in our hearts.
A truly lovely man; we will miss the dog walks with you at Christmas when we put the world to rights. RIP Alan.
We are truly heartbroken. We will miss you Alan. Sadly we know exactly what you are all going through. Lots of love to you all, Ceira, Stephen, Felix & Phoebe xx
